Ok, besides the significant other, then the photographer, the next most important selection in my mind is the cake! We have cakes for our dog’s birthday, even our fish get a birthday cake (so what if they can’t have a piece, it means more for me!) – so needless to say, in my book the wedding cake is a very important selection. Option 1: Golden Romance
Reminiscent of the “Gilded Age,” we have a traditional round stacked cake, gilded in antique gold fondant, decorated with royal icing swag and gold dragee.
The base of each tier is wrapped with white satin ribbon and is adorned with a black and white pearlescent peony blossom.
Option 2: Modern Beauty
Floral damask flocking over ivory fondant embellishes these square tiers.
Each tier is wrapped at the base with a copper fondant sash and bow and adorned with a pearl studded gold gum paste brooch.
Option 3: Sophisticated Elegance
Victorian decadence describes this octagon shaped cake topped with an ivory globe. Each tier is adorned with fondant swag, gum paste cameos and royal icing filigree.
The base is bordered with lustrous string pearls and rolled fondant roses. The orb is nestled in a bed of pink and peach colored fondant roses and purple violets and decorated with strips of fondant ribbon and royal icing vines. The cake is topped with a pearl dusted fondant bow.
