The luckiest woman in the world | Happy Mother’s Day!

personal

the blog:

Happy Mother’s Day. What an incredible almost 13 years it has been as a mom. There are so many thoughts that crowd my mind when I try to think of something somewhat coherent to say about how much I love my family. My heart is filled with so many incredible memories of my experiences as a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a granddaughter.

I will just say this – my mom was right about so many things. But most of all she told me that I would never understand how much she loves my sister and I. No matter how old we get, she would still worry and still love us more every single day. I didn’t understand that when I was younger. And now I do.

The depth of the love is staggering. My mom was able to love us unconditionally, put up with all sorts of sarcasm + teen angst, she was my friend, my cheerleader, my reality check, no matter what I did or didn’t do, she loved me anyway.  She gave us everything she had and she still does. She is the first one I call when I am sad or happy. It is her honesty, her opinions, her guidance, her generosity that has made me who I am today.

I am so fortunate to have an amazing husband and two healthy children. A life that I couldn’t love anymore than I already do. I wouldn’t change a thing. I am amazed watching these two girls grow into a teen and pre-teen – I am so proud to be their mom!

(These kids have no shortage of photos taken of them – so I just grabbed an assortment of iPhone photos as well as some taken with a “real” camera.)
