As a wedding photographer, we have the good fortune of being introduced to all sorts of great professionals in the wedding industry. Last year, we had the opportunity to work for the first time with Amina Michele of Some Like it Classic Wedding and Event Design here in Scottsdale. She was the planner for a beautiful wedding that Keith photographed which combined both a Sikh ceremony followed by a Jewish ceremony at The Phoenix Art Museum. Lots of planning and lots of coordinating to pull off several hundred guests at multiple locations over the course of a very long eventful day. The wedding day went off without a hitch. Please click here for Part 1 and Part 2 of this beautiful wedding.

We recently photographed Amina and her girls at The Saguaro Hotel in Old Town Scottsdale.

And then I asked Amina a few questions. Thank you for taking the time!

What is your favorite part about the wedding day? Watching our Bride walk down the aisle, it’s the day she has been waiting for, and we love to share it with the Bride and Groom, she becomes a dear friend of ours, so it’s just as special to watch her and her fiance share their vows. Another one of our favorite parts of the day, is getting to see her after she is “MARRIED” then taking her into her reception space and showing her that we brought her vision to life plus plus. The look on her face or tears in her eyes is why we do our job, we want to deliver her dream in a way that she will always remember.

What is one question you wish clients would ask more often? THE QUESTION: Why did you get into the business? A lot of planners get into the business planning their own wedding, to us that doesn’t make them qualified to put on a perfect event for a Bride. Just because they loved planning their wedding (everyone does), doesn’t mean they can plan your wedding – most of these gals end up getting out of the business at some point, they realize it’s not just the love for weddings that it takes to manage an event. All of our planners have worked in different facets of the event industry prior to weddings, and when we chose the wedding business it’s because we have a true passion for executing a beautiful event, telling a client’s story, and all of us possess qualities that make us great planners and coordinators. Not just that we loved planning our own wedding.

There is a lot of competition in your field, if I was a bride, why should I hire Some Like it Classic? We deliver the best weddings, period, exclamation point, exclamation point, exclamation point.

What is your favorite part about your job?  Developing a personal relationship with our clients. We feel like the more we get to know them, the better we will be able to execute their wedding day and make decisions that they would want.

What do you want everyone to know about Some Like it Classic?  We work with every type of Bride, not just Classic Brides. We work with all budgets, all styles, and will work unlimited hours to deliver exactly what it is that you are looking for at no additional cost to you.

Any trends you want to mention? Visit aminamichele.com for trends – you will get great wedding advice and trends there every day!!

What is your philosophy? Celebrating Tradition with Innovative Design – we want you to enjoy the wedding process, and we want to create a design that is unique to the Bride and Groom – innovative design style is what we love, but we want your day to be surrounded by love, intimate conversation, and lots of laughter… and a little “WOW” from your guests is what we strive for 🙂

What is your inspiration?  Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Liz Taylor, Grace Kelly – all women of different design styles and backgrounds – these are our Brides – whether they are Romantic, Whimsical, Playful, or Classic… we love them all….

If you could do whatever you want, what would you be doing?  Weddings all over the world – we love travel – destination weddings inspire us … wouldn’t it be nice to work in Paris with Keith Pitts and Melissa!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

We couldn’t agree more – who doesn’t love a gorgeous wedding in Paris?
