Take a Breath

wedding

the blog:

More and more of our couples are deciding to do a post wedding session and I completely understand why. A wedding day, even with the most comprehensive time line is fast paced and can be slightly overwhelming for the couple. The day passes in a blur and before you know it – the day is over.

One of the first items that seems to get trimmed back on a wedding day is the time a couple can or wants to spend taking their photos together. Yes in our humble opinion, these are some of the best photos of the day but rather than rush through these photos, miss cocktail hour or mingling with your guests, it can make perfect sense to do your photos together on another day.

This is a great alternative for some. Taking the majority of the couple’s photos on another day opens up time and opportunities. Think off the beaten path epic location, surrounded by scenery for miles and miles or head right back to the venue where you were married. Regardless of what you decide, one thing is for sure, you will be more relaxed and can go at your own pace.

Recently, a couple was married at the Royal Palms one day and the next headed to Sedona for a weekend at the Enchantment Resort, with her dress, flowers, make up etc. It was important for them to incorporate natural beauty and their love of the outdoors. They knew what they wanted and we are so happy that it worked out perfectly.

The bride above had a 3 day wedding weekend and still didn’t have enough time in the timeline because of the size of the wedding, traditions, venue changes, etc.  They took a few photos together on the wedding day but opted to wait a few weeks and dedicate the right amount of time to getting the photos they wanted.  No stress, no worries.

It sounds so simple, but it’s your wedding, make sure you get the photos you want!

I just love this trio of photos, especially the last one. Shutting her eyes, taking a breath. Relax and enjoy!
