In these photos, we are focusing on a bridal suite or where a bride is getting ready. We just love all that is happening during these moments – a little bit of chaos mixed with a little bit of emotion make for some beautiful documentary style photos. 

Everyone is busy doing something. Hair + makeup are putting on their finishing touches, steaming the dress, spraying the hair, putting on shoes, a veil, saying a prayer, reading a personal note, giving a gift to their significant other. All these moments combine to start the retelling of the wedding day. 

When possible, black + white film, coupled with a rangefinder camera are the perfect recipe (in our opinion) for the emotive moments that happen when a couple is getting ready on their wedding day. 

For us, a wedding day is a linear story – we enjoy being there for the beginning, middle and end. These establishing shots at the start of the day begin to tell the story. These photographs set up the importance of the day and we wouldn’t want to start the day any other way.
