New cameras...

Hi All,
First I will start with a disclosure. I am a Canon homer. That said let me get on with this. Canon and Nikon are the only real choices for modern 35mm digital SLR’s. They both stand on long reputations of performance and reliability with countless professional photographers. One easy way to spot Canon’s influence is to watch sporting events. When you see the sidelines you observe a sea of long white (kind of taupe actually) lenses. That is the signature of Canon’s professional telephoto lenses. Great marketing considering how visible they are. That would be a draw back though for a war photographer unless he/she went about camofelaouging their lenses. Obvious is not good around people with guns.

Now for the possibly interesting parts…Canon and Nikon have both recently announced new cameras. Nikon has put forth the D700. It sounds great. It has a 12.1 megapixel full frame chip without being a D3. Something new for Nikon. It seems that it would be a direct competitor with Canons 5D which had no competition (since it was the only one in its class until now). It uses a cmos chip and has 51 auto focus points while able to shoot at up to 8 frames per second with a special battery pack. If I shot Nikon I would definatly buy one.

Canon has anounced the 5d mk2. It is a full frame cmos sensor camera with 21+ megapixels (the 5d it replaces has 12.1 megapixels). It has 9 focusing points (I like the Nikon for this) and a shooting burst rate of 3.9 frames per second (due to the insanley large file size). A cool and really useful feature is the built in dust removal. If you have been around a little bit then you can empatize with the dust problem that digital slr’s can have. Two features that leave me scratching my head are the ability to shoot HiDef video and the live view feature. Who know’s.

If you would like real reviews (very in depth) then check out They are a great resource for new camera reviews and info. Lastly, for the mom who want’s better photos but likes the point and shoot ease, Canon has anounced the successor to the G9. Aptly named the G10, it should be an excellent camera if it is even as good as the G9. That said, you can probably get a good deal on a new G9 as stores will be clearing inventory to make room for the new camera. The G9 has been called the professionals point and shoot. That should give you a clue.

Thats all for now. I hope this was of interest to someone. If you have any questions or comments to share them please feel free.

Hi there this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use
WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.

I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get advice from someone with
experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

Can I simply say what a relief to uncover somebody
that genuinely understands what they are talking about on the
internet. You certainly realize how to bring an issue to
light and make it important. A lot more people have to look at this and understand this side
of your story. I can’t believe you’re not more popular since you surely have the gift.
