the blog:

Well we first got the itch for Super 8 about 2 1/2 years ago. We purchased two 30+ year old Super 8 film cameras and started playing around. That fall, we took some fun footage at weddings we were photographing, had the film developed and scanned, started editing and really fell in love with the finished product.
If you are of a certain age, you remember the sound of Super 8. You remember sitting with your grandparents watching family movies.  You remember how the film looked. There is such a nostalgic feeling about this type of film – we just love it.

When we break out the cameras at a wedding, the minute you start shooting, people either comment on the cameras (yes they look like they are some antique and couldn’t possibly work, and work well) or guests comment on the sound. Oh that magical Super 8 sound.

Fast forward to the present. We are so excited that we are finally offering Super 8 Wedding Film as an add on to our wedding packages as well as a stand alone product.

The bottom line is, we love film. Film is the medium that is an everpresent part of our story telling whether it be wedding photography or cinematic shorts.  The organic nature of film, the sense of nostalgia, the transcendence of time, our vision and artistry combine to create not the typical wedding film – but a film as unique as each couple.

Super 8 is used to capture the big moments and small details that all come together to tell your story. Each film is shot with vintage Super 8 cameras.  The film footage is then professionally processed and digitized. (No, you don’t have to gather round the old screen and projector in your grandfather’s basement to watch your wedding film.) We then professionally edit the footage, set it to music, digitally transfer the finished film to a DVD for easy viewing, downloading, sharing and archiving. We will send you a link that you can easily share with friends and family.
