How do you present wedding day photos after a wedding?

the blog:

A wedding day is filled with so many incredible moments. How do we organize the photos to share with a couple after the wedding?

Wedding Day Photos

Keith and I are sometimes photographing the exact same moment, sometimes we are in completely different locations on a wedding day. So organizing these images by wedding day event makes it as easy as possible to locate an image rather than sift through the ALL PHOTOS – or our chronological gallery.

As we all know, each wedding is so so different from the rest. Having a wedding planner that lays out a very precise, realistic timeline for the day is a must. This organization allows us the time to capture everything.

For this featured wedding, we had several moving parts and this is how we broke them down to tell the complete story of the day:

  1. Gals / Getting Ready

  2. Guys / Getting Ready

  3. First Look with Bridesmaids

  4. First Look with Dad

  5. First Look Couple

  6. Family / Bridal Party Photos

  7. Ketubah Signing

  8. Ceremony Details

  9. Ceremony

  10. Couples Photos

  11. Cocktails / Dinner

  12. Dances / Speeches

  13. Party / Cake Cutting

The bride was getting ready at Villa Montana, a private villa perched above the Sanctuary Resort. The groom was getting ready down at the main part of the resort in one of the casitas. During this time we love taking photos of hair + makeup, gift / card exchanges, details such as the dress, invitation, interactions between everyone and everything happening around us.

Bridesmaids Photos

When we arrived, the bride and her bridesmaids were finishing up hair and makeup. Once everyone was ready, we decided to take the robe photos in 2 locations, on the deck overlooking the pool and by the pool with an incredible reflection.

It was important for the bride to surprise her bridesmaids once she was in her dress. A first look of sorts. We used the huge double doors that opened up to outside. The bridesmaids on one side of the door, the bride on the other. She swung the doors open for an epic reveal. Their reactions were priceless.
