Well I have spent the morning shedding happy tears.
Maybe coming off a holiday weekend, social distancing and not able to gather in groups has made me nostalgic for family members and more specifically family memories.
Maybe because yesterday was the 3rd anniversary of my dad’s death. Or maybe because I was thinking of all the years spent at my grandparent’s house on holidays just like this. Or maybe because I did an Easter egg hunt for our daughters and my niece (no they aren’t too old at 15, 14, 13 insert smiley face). Watching them run around the yard with Easter baskets grabbing hidden eggs that they couldn’t have reached when they were tiny little girls just brought back a flood of memories.
And like a slideshow of photos in my mind I played back all these moments from my childhood and theirs.
Not sure what made us think of those Kodak television ads from our childhood but I’m so glad we did.
That Paul Anka song “Do you Remember?” making me tear up thinking of these memories. And realizing we do remember these moments because of certain photos in our mind. Photos of those people that shaped our lives, interactions, life moments that matter.
A reminder of why we do what we do.
Photos live forever.
