Top 10 favorite images from this Scottsdale engagement session

the blog:

Having your Scottsdale engagement session at the TPC Champions Golf Course is the perfect fit for someone who plays there pretty regularly. Why not, gorgeous scenery and your home away from home.

I love it when a couple includes something that they absolutely love to do together as part of their couples shoot. It really makes their engagement session photos much more about who they are as a couple. Photos can be both pretty and be something that you enjoy doing together.

Or for this couple, a little bit of both.

From the TPC we moved our Scottsdale engagement session to the real desert. What is prettier than the desert right before sunset?

The second part of the engagement shoot was at one of my favorite Scottsdale hiking trails. The Lost Dog Trailhead. Incredible desert scenery in every direction.

Lost Dog Trail was a ghost town because the temperatures were over 110. Fortunately, we didn’t have to travel too far to get some pretty amazing photos.

I personally can be very awkward to photograph. I’m not a natural in front of the camera. Needless to say, I much prefer being behind the camera.

So I’m always a bit jealous of couples who kill it from the outset. Easy interactions with one another, obviously head over heels in love. Just makes our job as engagement photographer that much easier.

That never seems to happen with Keith and I. He is a natural (maybe being an ex model is helpful) but then there’s me, being awkward.

Well I thought I narrowed it down to 10, but our final shot needs to be included. The light was gorgeous as dusk was settling in. The last photo.

Looking forward to celebrating their wedding, Spring 2021 at the Four Seasons Troon Scottsdale.
