Most couples hire us to be their wedding photographers because they are looking for us to capture real emotion as it unfolds on their wedding day, they want an honest retelling of what happened all day long. But even the couple that wants a documentary style with very little direction still wants family + bridal party portraits.

It might be tiring standing in one spot for what seems live forever but these photographs become historical records, this is what gets passed down to the next generation. No one loves candid and documentary more than we do but while that may be our emphasis – we certainly appreciate a well taken formal family + bridal portrait.

But that varies from wedding to wedding as well. Some couples want to have some fun, some want to be super stiff and perfectly arranged, others want us to recommend the posing, some want a few different backdrops and still others want to do something less traditional.

From joining families, embracing traditions to multi generations of family – these formal portraits are so important. We do our best to minimize the time it takes but always make sure that everyone and anyone that is most important to you is represented in these portraits.
